Competition Complete!
The competition has ended!
UCSD Triton Robotix’s robot, Triton, had its fair share of battles. However, the results of the tournament cannot be displayed, because of a non-disclosure agreement with CBS. Wait until August, 2009 to watch!
All that can be said is this:
This was Triton Robotix’s first year ever competing. The team was comprised of members completely new to BattleBots. Thus, the group had many challenges during its build and design processes. However, with the guiding support of mentor Donald Hutson, they were able to produce a robot qualified to compete.
Being a newbie team, Triton Robotix’s expectations varied between optimism and pessimism. Nonetheless, they are proud to have competed in BattleBots this year, and can’t wait to raise the bar for next year.
Robot Fighting Time!
BattleBots competition at Mare Island, CA from April 26-April 27, 2009.
UCSD Triton Robotix is to be among 10 other college teams in a double-elimination tournament to see which robot reigns supreme.
Half a dozen CBS-contracted film crews will be on-site to document the destruction. The BattleBots series is due to air in August.
